Averill Park, NY

Burden Lake Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course in Averill Park, New York, roughly ten miles from Troy and fifteen from Albany. The course was designed by architect Chuck Baltzel and operates today as a semi-private club open to public play. The layout is set in the rolling terrain around the Rensselaer County lake region, with course reviewers describing large, fast greens and a generally challenging test for the area. Facilities include a grass-tee driving range and private lessons through the club's PGA staff. Beyond the course, Burden Lake offers indoor golf simulators featuring dozens of virtual courses for year-round play, along with a clubhouse restaurant and bar known as Jack Kelly's Tavern by the Green. The club welcomes both members and public golfers with advance tee time booking.
