Wayland, MA

Sandy Burr Country Club is located along the Sudbury River in Wayland, Massachusetts, about 16 miles west of Boston. The club formed in 1921 on land combining two former farms, and Donald Ross served as the designing architect, with the first nine holes completed in 1923 and the second nine finished in 1924. The course occupies a compact, walkable routing with short green-to-tee connections rather than a sprawling resort-style layout, and several holes run along low, marshy ground near the river. From the back tees it plays to roughly 6,427 yards at a par of 72, with quick, sloping greens serving as the course's main defense. Owned by the same family for four generations, Sandy Burr operates on a daily green fee basis with an "Inner Club" available for members seeking competitive play, and it regularly hosts Massachusetts Golf Association events.
