Courses in Evansville
Cambridge Golf Club
Evansville, IN
Cambridge Golf Course is a public facility in Evansville, Indiana, built across about 170 acres of rolling farmland. Tim Liddy designed the course, which opened for play on July 15, 2000, in a Scottish-style links layout with in-play lakes, grass mounds and bunkers. The 18-hole course plays to a par of 72 and measures about 7,200 yards, with bentgrass greens and zoysia fairways and tees. Multiple tee options and target landing areas create a risk-reward character on many of the par-4 and par-5 holes. Cambridge is open to the public and also operates an expanded banquet room used for weddings and other events, in addition to standard tee-time play.
Helfrich Golf Course
Evansville, IN
Helfrich Golf Course, also known as Helfrich Hills, was established in 1923 as the first public golf facility in Evansville. Renowned architect Tom Bendelow designed the 18 hole par 71 layout, which features many hills and valleys. The tree lined fairways provide a challenging test for players of all skill levels. The course underwent a significant restoration project recently, reopening its greens in April 2023. It measures 6,324 yards from the longest tees and frequently hosts USGA Public Links qualifying rounds.
