Glendale Golf Course is a public course on the west side of Salt Lake City, Utah, running alongside the Jordan River. The city built the course in 1973. It has faced repeated closure proposals over the years as the city weighed its golf operations against other uses for the land. The par-72 layout plays 6,908 yards from the back tees on mostly flat, open terrain with modest tree cover, lakes affecting a handful of holes, and views of the Wasatch and Oquirrh mountains.

Utah's landscape includes the Uinta and Wasatch Ranges of the Rocky Mountains, with peaks, valleys, canyons, lakes, rock formations, and forests. The Basin and Ridge area extends from the Great Salt Lake west to the Bonneville Salt Flats, then south to "Utah's Dixie." This southern region has high plateaus and deep canyons, including Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks National Monument, and Zion Canyon. Sand Hollow Resort, Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club, and The Ledges in St. George are public access courses in the southwest. Valley View, Thanksgiving Point Golf Club, Hobble Creek, and Soldier Hollow are top courses near Salt Lake City and Provo. Other public courses include The Hideout near the Four Corners and Moab Golf Club near the Arches.
Eaglewood Golf Course
North Salt Lake, UT · 6.5 mi away
Eaglewood Golf Course sits in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains above North Salt Lake, Utah, with views across the Great Salt Lake. The public course opened in 1994. It was designed by architect Keith R. Foster. The hillside routing brings elevated tee shots into sloping fairways, narrow landing areas, and undulating, often two-tiered greens that can play tricky even at reduced speed. From the back tees the course measures 6,772 yards at a par of 71. A cart is recommended given the terrain, and the facility includes a driving range built as a dogleg so players can practice fade shots before their round.
