About this course

Williston Municipal Golf Course is located in Williston, North Dakota, in the state's oil-producing Bakken region. The nine-hole course opened in 1975 and was designed by Lane Marshall and Carl Thuesen.

Water comes into play on three of the nine holes, and the course is operated by the Williston Parks and Recreation District as part of the city's public recreation offerings. Rapid population growth tied to the oil industry has led the district to plan a larger redevelopment of the site, with architect Kevin Norby engaged to design a new eighteen-hole routing as part of a broader mixed-use project on the adjoining former airport land.

The current course plays to a par of 36 over nine holes, around 3,100 yards from the back tees, and offers a driving range, pull and power carts, and club rentals to the public.
