About this course
The Wilderness is the City of Lake Jackson's daily-fee golf course, about 10 miles from the Gulf. Jeffrey Brauer designed it, and it opened in 2004 on land bordered by the Brazos River and three wildlife sanctuaries. Holes run through hardwood forest, marsh and wetlands, with water in play on about a dozen holes, large contoured greens and deep bunkers. From the back tees the par-72 layout plays 7,106 yards with a 72.9 course rating and 126 slope. The course is run by KemperSports and has a driving range and practice facilities.
