About this course

The Ranch Golf Club, designed by Casey O'Callaghan, opened in 2004 in the eastern foothills of Silicon Valley. O'Callaghan's design emphasizes narrow, slanted fairways and punishing rough, requiring precision. The course uses bent grass greens and cool-season grass fairways, set among natural hillsides and large oak trees. The 15th hole, a downhill par-3, features a bunker splitting a tiered green. Despite past maintenance issues, the course is noted for its design and Bay Area views.

Cinnabar Hills Golf Club (Mountain/Canyon)

San Jose, CA · 5.9 mi away

Cinnabar Hills Golf Club occupies rolling foothills south of San Jose, California, a short drive from Silicon Valley. Opened in 1998, it was the first new public course built in San Jose in roughly three decades, designed by architect John Harbottle III on land once mined for cinnabar ore in the 1800s. The facility is arranged as three nine-hole loops, the Mountain, Canyon and Lake nines, which combine into different 18-hole routings including the Mountain/Canyon pairing. Holes follow the natural contours of the hillside terrain, incorporating mature oaks and native habitat, with red-tailed hawks a common sight over the fairways. Cinnabar Hills is open to the public and includes a clubhouse restaurant, banquet space and an on-site golf museum. The varied nine-hole combinations give golfers flexibility in yardage and character depending on the routing chosen.

Coyote Creek Golf Club (Tournament)

San Jose, CA · 12 mi away

The Tournament Course is one of two 18-hole layouts at Coyote Creek Golf Club in Morgan Hill, California, just south of San Jose in the South Bay. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 1999, it is the more demanding of the property's two Nicklaus courses and hosted the Champions Tour's Siebel Classic in Silicon Valley in 2001 and 2002. The back nine finishes through a series of four lakes and two waterfalls, with the par-4 18th, bordered by water down the entire right side, regarded as the course's signature hole. Fairways and greens are bluegrass, and the layout combines generous, manicured fairways with strategic bunkering and water hazards across rolling valley terrain. The course plays to a par of 72 and stretches to roughly 7,027 yards from the back tees.

The property includes a driving range, practice areas, and the 12 Mile Station restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating.
