The Quarry at Giants Ridge is located in Biwabik, Minnesota, on the Iron Range, built across a former sand quarry and iron ore mine that gives the course an unusually rugged, man-made topography compared to typical northern Minnesota forest courses.
Architect Jeff Brauer designed the layout, opened in 2003 as the second course at Giants Ridge after The Legend. Raised tees, forced carries, trench bunkers and large waste areas are common, with holes such as the split-fairway par-5 second and the drivable par-4 13th standing out. Each hole references one of the area's historic mines.
The course is a public resort facility managed by Troon Golf, with a separate clubhouse and driving range from its sister course, overlooking Embarrass Lake on the closing holes.
