About this course

The Oaks sits inside Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama, just south of Birmingham, on the park's wooded, hilly terrain near the Double Oak Mountain ridge. The 18-hole, par-72 layout was designed by Earl Stone and opened in the early 1970s, running through mature stands of oak and pine with Bermuda greens and tees. Fairways roll with the park's natural contours, and wildlife regularly crosses the course.

The course is public and operated by Alabama State Parks, with tee times bookable up to six days ahead and walk-ons accepted at the starter's discretion. Amenities include a lighted driving range, chipping and putting greens, a pro shop, and an on-site grille. Blue tees play 6,842 yards; the course has hosted local qualifying events.
