About this course
Talega Golf Club is located in the hills above San Clemente, California, overlooking the city sometimes called the Spanish Village by the Sea. It opened in 2001 after a construction delay caused by environmental issues affecting the final six holes.
The course was designed by Brian Curley and Lee Schmidt with input from Fred Couples, featuring around 92 bunkers, water in play on four holes, and several forced carries over canyons. It plays to a par of 72 at up to 6,951 yards from the back tees.
Talega is open to public daily fee play, with a discounted players club program also available, along with a Spanish colonial style clubhouse and driving range.

Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club is a public, daily-fee course in Mission Viejo, California, set along Trabuco Creek within The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo. The 18-hole, par-72 layout was designed by PGA Tour player Tom Lehman with local architect Casey O'Callaghan and spans roughly 240 acres of park-like terrain. Five sets of tees stretch the course from about 5,045 to 7,011 yards, with the creek acting as a lateral hazard on seven holes and lakes coming into play on three others. The club includes O'Neill's Bar & Grill, wedding and event facilities, and online tee time booking for the public.
Monarch Beach Golf Links
Dana Point, CA · 7.2 mi away
Monarch Beach Golf Links sits on bluffs above the Pacific in Dana Point, one of the few oceanfront courses in Orange County. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the layout, which opened in 1983 as Salt Creek Golf Course, with the front nine built first and the back nine completed in 1985. A 2015 renovation added new tees and refreshed the bunkering. The course plays to a par of 70 and roughly 6,645 yards, with several holes running close enough to the bluff edge that the ocean shapes both the view and the shot. Wind off the water often matters more than length when choosing a club. The course is part of the adjacent resort property in Dana Point.
