Oak Quarry Golf Club sits in a former marble quarry in Riverside, California. Dr. Gil Morgan and Schmidt-Curley Design, led by Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley, laid out the course on the old Jensen Quarry site and opened it in 2000. The layout runs through sheer rock walls and large elevation changes left over from decades of mining. No homes border the course, so the quarry walls and open pits stay in view from tee to green. The par-3 14th plays from a high tee across a pond to a green framed by a quarry wall, and it is the hole most golfers remember. The course plays to 7,002 yards at par 72 from the back tees, with a slope of 137 and a rating of 73.9. Four sets of tees bring the yardage down for shorter hitters. Oak Quarry is a public, daily-fee course open to walk-up and advance-booked tee times.

Las Vegas, NV

Bali Hai Golf Club, a public course on the Las Vegas Strip, opened in 2000. Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley designed the course. It features a tropical theme with Balinese-style landscaping, white sand bunkers, and black volcanic rock, all set against the Strip skyline. The course combines lakes and plantings with desert surroundings. It is the last championship golf course directly on the Strip corridor.

The layout plays to a par of 72 and roughly 6,819 yards from the back tees, with rolling fairways and bunkering set beneath the Spring Mountains on the city's southwest side. Its ten sets of tees, ranging from about 4,889 to 6,819 yards, are intended to suit a wide range of playing abilities.

Mt. Woodson Golf Club is located in Ramona, California, in a rugged, boulder-strewn stretch of northeast San Diego County. The course was designed by Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley and plays as a par-70 layout of about 6,000 yards, with holes carrying names like Ledges, Tree Tops, and The Beach. The target-style design winds through granite outcroppings, oak trees, and small lakes, including a roughly 450-foot wooden bridge connecting two holes. The club is open to the public daily from early morning until sunset, with tee times bookable online and a dress code requiring collared shirts and soft spikes.
