About this course
Tahoe City Golf Course is a 9-hole, par-33 public course in the middle of Tahoe City, California, playing 2,678 yards from the Blue tees over one par 5, four par 4s and four par 3s. It opened in 1918 and was laid out by May "Queenie" Dunn Hupfel, one of the first women to design a course in the United States, which makes it the oldest course at Lake Tahoe. In 2012 a four-party public partnership, made up of the Tahoe City Public Utility District, Placer County, the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association and the Truckee Tahoe Airport District, bought the course to keep it in public hands. The district replaced the irrigation system in 2025, its first overhaul since 1976, and kept the course open through the season. Play runs May through October, and the grounds become the Tahoe City Winter Sports Park in winter.

The Mountain Course at Incline Village Golf Resort is an 18-hole executive course in Incline Village designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in the late 1960s. Playing to a par of 58 across roughly 3,500 yards, it is the highest-elevation golf course in the Nevada portion of the Lake Tahoe Basin. Mature trees and elevation changes define the layout, which is operated by the Incline Village General Improvement District. Its shorter format makes for a quicker round than the resort's regulation Championship Course.
