Sweetwater Country Club is a semi-private course in Barnwell with one of the oldest nines in the state. The property was donated to Barnwell County in 1933 for a public course, and A. Kemp designed the original nine, built with WPA labor. Russell Breeden designed the second nine, which opened in 1977. The hilly par-71 layout plays to about 6,248 yards with small, fast greens and a pair of downhill par 3s over water at the 10th and 14th.
