About this course

Stratton Mountain Country Club is located at the base of the Stratton Mountain ski area in south-central Vermont, near Bennington and Bondville, with holes laid out along the sidehills of the mountain. The facility totals twenty-seven holes across three nines: Lake, Mountain and Forest.

Geoffrey Cornish designed the original Lake and Mountain nines in the late 1960s, with the Forest nine added later; Bill Robinson is also credited as a design collaborator. The course has hosted multiple LPGA Tour events over the years, and holes such as the long, downhill Mountain nine's par-five fifth cross creeks as they descend the mountainside.

Stratton Mountain operates as a resort golf facility connected to the broader Stratton Mountain Resort, offering seasonal play amid New England hardwood forest scenery.

The Equinox Golf Course, a Walter Travis design, opened in 1927 in Manchester, Vermont. Travis, a U. S. Amateur champion, designed courses with well-placed bunkers and undulating greens. Rees Jones restored the course in 1992. The mountainous terrain creates a challenging layout. The 13th hole is a par 4 with a long uphill approach. Travis's greens, with their pot bunkers and "chocolate drop" moguls, provide memorable challenges.
