About this course

Fox Run Golf Club, formerly known as Okemo Valley Golf Club, is a public course in Ludlow, Vermont, on a former dairy farm property near Okemo Mountain. The current 18-hole layout was designed by architect Steve Durkee and opened in stages beginning in 1999, replacing an earlier nine-hole course built in 1969.

Described as New England's only heathland-style course, the par-70 layout runs uphill through the property with sculpted bentgrass greens, tees, and fairways framed by trees and native grasses, set against the backdrop of the Green Mountains. It has hosted Vermont and New England PGA Section events over the years.

Ownership passed from Okemo Mountain Resort to Vail Resorts and then, in 2021, to Fox Run Properties, which restored the club's original name and has since renovated greens, added forward tees, and rebuilt bunkers. The course operates as public, with an indoor training center and restaurant on site.

Crown Point Country Club

Springfield, VT · 14 mi away

Crown Point Country Club is located in Springfield, Vermont, in the Connecticut River valley area of the state. It was established in August 1953 by local golfers who had previously had to travel to neighboring towns to play, and it opened with only seven playable holes before expanding to a full eighteen in 1959. The course was designed by William F. Mitchell and is built on rolling, hilly terrain with wooded fairways, large fast greens, and two ponds that come into play on several holes. It is a member-owned semi-private club, notable for the historic Crown Point Military Road, built in 1759, which runs through the property. Crown Point plays to a par of 72 over roughly 6,600 to 6,800 yards from the back tees and is open to public tee times alongside its membership, with a pro shop, restaurant and bar overlooking the 18th hole.

Killington Golf Course

Killington, VT · 16 mi away

Killington Golf Course sits at 2,000 feet on the Killington Resort property, a 1984 Geoffrey Cornish design that makes the most of its mountain terrain. Snowmelt streams cross several fairways, and the par-72 layout stretches 6,186 yards from the back tees, with the routing playing along the slopes below Killington's ski trails. Hole 15 was named the No. 4 best hole in New England by Boston Magazine. The course is open to the public from mid-May through mid-October, with the Clubhouse Grill, a 12,000-square-foot putting green, and full practice facilities at the base. Elevation shifts shape club selection all round, and mornings stay cool even in summer, a reminder that this is mountain golf in every sense.
