About this course
South Hills Golf Club is located on the south side of Parkersburg, West Virginia, along a meandering stream that runs through the property. The club has operated in the area since the early 1930s and describes itself as a longtime Southside tradition.
The course measures just under 6,500 yards over eighteen holes, mixing lengthy par-4s and par-5s with tighter, tree-lined holes and strategically placed bunkers. It has changed hands several times over the years, most recently coming under sole ownership in 2016, when work began on refurbishing the clubhouse and course grounds.
South Hills operates as a semi-private club with a pro shop, restaurant, practice range and instruction, and it remains open to public play alongside its membership.

Golf Club of West Virginia is located in Waverly, on the eastern edge of Wood County, where the terrain transitions from Ohio River bottomland toward the Appalachian foothills. It is the only daily-fee course in the Mid-Ohio Valley. The course opened for play in the late 1950s, laid out as a parkland-style design over hilly, wooded ground without housing along the fairways. Rolling terrain, tree-lined holes, and water hazards define the layout, which plays to a par of 70. The club offers daily-fee public access alongside membership options. Its scenic, rural setting and unhurried pace of play give it the character of a small community golf club, and it provides driving range and practice green facilities for golfers of all levels.
