About this course
Singing Hills Golf Club sits in the Dehesa Valley near El Cajon, California, and includes 45 holes across three courses, Oak Glen, Pine Glen, and Willow Glen. Cecil Hollingsworth and partners opened the first course, now Oak Glen, on January 26, 1956, with the par-3 Pine Glen following in 1961 and Willow Glen in 1967. A flood in the winter of 1979-80 washed away about 40 acres of the property and damaged 40 of the 54 holes, after which architect Ted Robinson rebuilt all three courses. The club was purchased by the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation in 2001 and celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2026.

Sycuan Resort Golf Course (Oak Glen) is a Ted Robinson design at the Sycuan Resort in El Cajon, California, owned and operated by the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation. The 6,800-yard, par-72 layout winds through the oak-lined canyons of East San Diego County with classic Southern California parkland character. Steele Canyon Golf Club (Canyon/Meadow)
Jamul, CA · 2.9 mi away
Steele Canyon Golf Club sits in Jamul, California, about twenty minutes from downtown San Diego, across a mix of canyon, ranch, and vineyard terrain. The 27-hole facility opened in 1991. Gary Player personally designed all three nines, each with a distinct character: the Canyon nine has dramatic elevation changes and rugged shot values, the Ranch nine winds through a working ranch, and the Vineyard nine passes through woodlands, streams, and working vineyards. Steele Canyon operates as a semi-private club, with tee times available to the public alongside memberships, a pro shop, and a driving range.
Barona Creek Golf Club
Lakeside, CA · 11 mi away
Barona Creek Golf Club sits on the Barona Indian Reservation in Lakeside, about 30 minutes east of downtown San Diego. Gary Roger Baird designed the course, which opened in 2001 and runs through the rolling foothills and native canyon terrain of San Diego's backcountry. The layout settles into the existing grades with little heavy earthmoving, so holes are framed by scrub and native slopes rather than housing. Its inland, semi-arid setting produces firm, fast conditions that play very differently from the county's coastal courses. Running approaches and imaginative recoveries matter more here than aerial power.
