Shenvalee Golf Resort occupies 145 acres in New Market, Virginia, in the Shenandoah Valley beneath Massanutten Mountain. The Olde Course, the original nine holes, opened for play in 1927 and was built with pick-and-shovel labor and horse-drawn wagons; Bobby Jones took part in its opening ceremony. A second nine, now part of the Creek Course, was added in 1964, and the Miller Course followed in 1992, giving the property 27 total holes across three distinct nines that can be combined for 18-hole rounds. The Creek nine follows Smith Creek and is considered the most scenic, while the Miller nine is more open with fewer hazards. The grounds include a Colonial Revival lodge dating to the 1920s and later motel buildings, and the whole complex is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Golfers can walk up in most conditions, and the course remains open to public play.
