Quail Brook Golf Course is one of five public courses run by the Somerset County Park Commission, located in Somerset off New Brunswick Road. Designed by Ed Ault and opened in 1982, the par-71 layout plays about 6,617 yards from the back tees. The yardage looks modest on the card, but the hilly terrain makes it play longer, especially on a back nine with dramatic elevation changes that test walkers. Undulating fairways lead to sloped greens framed by strategic bunkering, putting a premium on the short game. It is a regular host of New Jersey State Golf Association qualifiers.
