PohlCat Golf Course is located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and was designed by former PGA Tour player and Mount Pleasant native Dan Pohl. It opened in 1992 and plays through and around the roughly 100-foot-wide Chippewa River.

The par-72 course combines Michigan woodland scenery with a links-style feel and stretches to about 6,954 yards from the back tees. Its USGA-style greens and numerous sand bunkers give it a championship character while remaining playable for a range of golfers.

The course is open to public play and includes a bar and grill, a banquet facility for weddings and events, and a driving range along with other practice areas.

Katke Golf Course

Katke Golf Course is the home course of Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, sitting on the highest ground in Mecosta County. It was designed by Robert Beard and opened for public play in 1974. The rolling terrain mixes links-style stretches with tree-lined holes, and the course has gone through renovation work since 2004 to keep it current. It also serves as the training ground for Ferris State's PGA Golf Management program, one of the first of its kind in the country.
