About this course

Pipestem Resort Golf Course sits inside Pipestem Resort State Park in southern West Virginia, on the east rim of the Bluestone River Gorge along the Summers-Mercer county line. The park opened to the public on Memorial Day 1970 after the state assembled thousands of acres of former farmland with federal redevelopment funds.

The 18-hole championship course was designed by Geoffrey Cornish and plays along the canyon rim with views into the gorge below. A separate 9-hole par-3 course sits nearby at the same facility.

The course is open to the public as part of the state park resort, which also includes two lodges, cabins, and a tramway into the gorge. Golfers can book tee times through the park's pro shop; carts and pull carts are both available.
