About this course
Pine Lakes Country Club in Myrtle Beach is the oldest course on the Grand Strand, nicknamed The Granddaddy. It opened in 1927 as Ocean Forest Country Club, designed by Robert White, the St. Andrews native who became the first president of the PGA of America, and took the Pine Lakes name in 1946. The par-70 layout measures 6,675 yards and sits less than half a mile from the Atlantic, with SeaDwarf paspalum turf that handles the salt air. Craig Schreiner led a two-year renovation that reopened the course in 2009, rebuilding the front nine while holes 10 through 18 follow White's original routing, and the greens and bunkers were restored again in 2021. The clubhouse is on the National Register of Historic Places, houses the Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame, and is where Time executives conceived Sports Illustrated in 1954.

Pine Ridge Club is located in Edgefield, South Carolina, near the Georgia border in the Augusta area. The club traces its roots to a nine-hole course built in a member's pasture in the late 1950s before moving to its present 84-acre site. The current eighteen-hole layout was designed by Russell Breeden and opened for play in 1968-69. The front nine is relatively flat with rolling hills, while the back nine is hillier and includes several water hazards. Large Bermuda greens and wide fairways characterize the course, with five sets of tees reaching close to 7,000 yards from the championship markers.
