The course is built around a 20-acre lake with water in play on several holes, and offers three distinct nine-hole combinations. Yardages from the tips play around 6,800 yards, with the Blue Tees around 6,500 yards. Homes do not come into play on any hole, giving the course an open, resort-like feel. One of the better public values in the Atlanta metro.

The Lakemont Course at Stone Mountain Golf Club is located within Stone Mountain Park near Atlanta, Georgia, with views of the park's namesake granite monolith and adjoining Stone Mountain Lake. It is one of two 18-hole courses at the facility, alongside the Stonemont Course. Lakemont was designed by Georgia architect John LaFoy and opened in the late 1980s. The front nine winds around the lake with water in play on several holes, while the back nine moves through rock outcroppings and additional water hazards, with dramatic elevation changes throughout. Stone Mountain Golf Club is open to the public and operates year-round.
