About this course
Orchard Creek Golf Club is a public course in Altamont, New York, about 25 minutes outside Albany, built through the hillsides and creek banks of a still-operating apple orchard run by the Abbruzzese family. It opened for play in 1999 and was designed by Paul Cowley. The hilly terrain along the Bozen Kill Creek was left largely intact, producing blind tee shots and dramatic uphill and downhill holes rather than heavily graded fairways.
Apple trees line many holes, blooming in spring and offering fruit to golfers in fall, and the course has a reputation for fast, undulating greens. Orchard Creek and the adjoining orchard business were listed for sale in 2026 after nearly 60 years of family ownership, though the course remained open to the public as of that listing.

Waubeeka Golf Links
Williamstown, MA · 39 mi away
Waubeeka Golf Links is located in South Williamstown, Massachusetts, in a river valley at the confluence of several Berkshire mountain ranges, with the Green River running through the front nine. The property was formerly farmland owned by the Rhodes family. Colonel Rowland Armacost designed, built and originally operated the course, which opened in 1966 as his only complete eighteen-hole creation. The layout is known for sharply sloping greens and around a hundred feet of elevation change on the back nine, with later renovation work by architect Mark Mungeam of the Cornish, Silva and Mungeam firm. Waubeeka operates as a public course offering various membership options alongside daily fee play, and it hosts tournaments, junior camps and community events throughout the year.
