About this course
Orange Tree Golf Resort is a tree-lined parkland course in North Scottsdale, Arizona, built on land that was once an orange grove and farm fields. Flat terrain, mature trees and several lakes give it a different character from the desert-style courses common elsewhere in the Valley, with Camelback Mountain visible from parts of the back nine.
The course opened in 1957, designed by Johnny Bulla and Lawrence Hughes, making it one of the older layouts in the Phoenix area. Jack Snyder carried out a redesign in 1977 that reshaped several holes and bunkers.
Orange Tree operates as a public resort course tied to on-site lodging, with multiple tee sets playing from about 4,800 to 6,700 yards. The John Jacobs Golf School operates on the property, and the practice facilities include a wide range tee and two putting greens.

Stonecreek Golf Club
Phoenix, AZ · 1.5 mi away
Stonecreek Golf Club is a public course in Phoenix, Arizona, near the point where Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Paradise Valley meet. It follows the contours of the Indian Bend Wash, giving many of its greens an elevated setting with views of the nearby Squaw Peak mountains. The course originally opened in 1983, designed by Gary Grandstaff and Roy Dye, and was later reworked by Arthur Hills & Associates, who added a stone-bedded creek that winds through much of the layout. It plays to a par of 71 and measures 6,871 yards from the back tees, with five sets of tees available for different skill levels. Bunkers as deep as 15 feet and water from both the creek and several ponds add challenge throughout the round. The club includes a restaurant, a full-service golf shop, a practice facility, and event space, and has hosted local qualifying rounds for PGA Tour events.

Camelback Golf Club (Ambiente)
Scottsdale, AZ · 2.7 mi away
The Ambiente course at Camelback Golf Club occupies part of the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, set against the northern Sonoran Desert. Jason Straka of Hurdzan/Fry Environmental Golf Design rebuilt the club's former Indian Bend layout, raising and reshaping the flat washland to add elevation change and improve drainage; the course opened in November 2013. Ambiente plays to a par of 72 at about 7,225 yards from the back tees, with wide fairways, five sets of tees, and only about 90 acres of maintained turf surrounded by restored native desert vegetation. It operates as a resort course open to guests of the Camelback Inn and the public through advance tee-time booking.
Ambiente Golf Club
Paradise Valley, AZ · 2.7 mi away
The Ambiente Course is one of two 18-hole layouts at Camelback Golf Club, located at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona, near the Paradise Valley area at the base of Camelback Mountain. The course opened in its current form in 2013 following a complete redesign of the previous Indian Bend layout. Architect Jason Straka of Hurdzan/Fry led the renovation, lowering the course's elevation profile to create dramatic rolling fairways and improve drainage, while restoring native desert plantings and reducing maintained turf. The par-72 course plays to roughly 7,225 yards from the back tees, with mountain views throughout the round. As a resort course, Ambiente is available to hotel guests and the public through tee time reservations, and it operates alongside the Arthur Hills-designed Padre Course as part of the same golf club.
