North Haven Golf Club sits on North Haven Island in midcoast Maine, reachable by ferry, and has operated since a group of summer residents bought a 140-acre farm to build the course. The property offers water views on several holes, including one green perched near the shoreline.
The club was founded in 1916 and the course was designed by the firm of Wayne Stiles and John Van Kleek. It remains largely intact as originally routed and plays to a par of 35 over 2,970 yards. Sports Illustrated named it one of the top nine-hole courses in the country in 1997.
North Haven operates as a semi-private club with seasonal, weekly and daily memberships, along with regular member events through the summer season.
