Miami Beach Golf Club opened to the public on January 10, 1923, originally as the Bayshore Golf Course, part of developer Carl Fisher's Alton Beach subdivision. English architect Willie Park laid out the original course, and golfer Gene Sarazen played its first exhibition round in 1922. During World War II the U.S. Army used the grounds as a training area. In 2002 and 2003, the City of Miami Beach hired architect Arthur Hills to lead a full rebuild of the course, regrading the land, redoing the lakes and constructing a new clubhouse. The redesigned, par-72 layout is set only blocks from the beach in an urban section of Miami Beach, with strategic fairway bunkering and water hazards shaping several holes. It remains a municipally owned course open to public play.

Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne

Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne occupies part of Crandon Park on a barrier island near Miami, surrounded by mangrove forests, saltwater lakes, and views toward Biscayne Bay. Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin designed the original course, which opened in 1972, with von Hagge returning for a redesign in 1993. The par-72 layout includes seven saltwater lakes and mangrove thickets, and is noted as the only course in North America built around a subtropical lagoon. Several holes overlook the bay, though mature shoreline trees screen much of the Miami skyline view for environmental reasons. The course is owned and operated by Miami-Dade County and open to the public. It hosted PGA Tour Champions events for many years and has undergone turf-reduction work in recent years aimed at lowering water use while preserving its tropical character.

The Biltmore Golf Course is part of the historic Biltmore Hotel complex in Coral Gables, Florida, developed by George Merrick as part of his 1920s vision for the city. The course was designed by Donald Ross, with ground broken in 1924 and play beginning in 1925 and 1926. The layout retains much of Ross's original routing, including 84 of its 85 original bunkers, restored in a 2007 project led by architect Brian Silva using Ross's original plans and aerial photographs. Bermuda fairways and rebuilt greens now stretch to more than 7,000 yards from the back tees. The course operates as a resort and municipal facility tied to the Biltmore Hotel, open to hotel guests and the public, with a pro shop and practice areas on site.
