Diadema Golf Club
North Anson, ME · 9.9 mi away
Diadema Golf Club is a 9-hole course on Route 16 in North Anson, Maine, about 40 minutes from Sugarloaf Mountain. It uses ten greens so that a round can be played as 18 holes with varying tee placements, over roughly 5,800 yards from the back markers. The layout is carved through pine woods in central Maine and, despite its modest length, requires course management on most holes because of tightly placed hazards and greens. Diadema is open to the public and includes a practice area with bunkers and mounds, a driving range, a putting green and a pro shop. It is a member club of the Maine State Golf Association.
Waterville Country Club
Oakland, ME · 20 mi away
Waterville Country Club is located on more than 150 acres in Oakland, Maine, in the central part of the state. Founded in 1916, the club's original nine holes were laid out by its founding members and redesigned in the 1930s by Orrin E. Smith, who had worked under Donald Ross. In 1967, a second nine was added and the course reworked under a design credited to Geoffrey Cornish. The semi-private, 18-hole course is open to both members and the public and has hosted the Maine Amateur Championship more than ten times. Facilities include a pro shop, restaurant, two putting greens, and a practice range.
Belgrade Lakes Golf Club
Belgrade Lakes, ME · 21 mi away
Belgrade Lakes Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-71 daily-fee course in Belgrade Lakes, Maine. Harold Alfond, founder of the Dexter Shoe Company, commissioned British architect Clive Clark to design the course, which opened in 1998. The layout covers high ground with heavy elevation change, white granite outcroppings, old-style cross bunkering and several water hazards. The clubhouse and first tee sit at the property's high point, overlooking Long Pond and Great Pond. The 9th and 18th holes share a large, undulating double green. The course is open to public play.
