Lake Placid Club - Mountain Course
Lake Placid, NY

About this course
The Mountain Course at Lake Placid Club in Lake Placid was laid out in 1910 by Scottish-born architect Alexander Findlay and substantially remodeled in 1931 by Alister MacKenzie. Set in the Adirondacks, it plays shorter and tighter than the resort's companion Links Course, with smaller greens and more tree-lined holes demanding accuracy over length. The course is part of the historic Lake Placid Club, which offers 45 holes across its property. It remains open to resort guests and the public.

The Golf Club at Basin Harbor is part of the Basin Harbor resort on Lake Champlain in Vergennes, Vermont. Golf there dates to 1916, when resort owner Allen Penfield Beach laid out a few holes; Scottish professional Alex Campbell designed nine holes in 1927, and architect William Mitchell added nine more in 1955 to create the 18-hole course. Geoffrey Cornish later renovated the layout in the mid-1980s. The course measures 6,513 yards to a par of 72, set along the lake with views of the Adirondacks across the water. It functions as a resort amenity open to guests and the public, with a pro shop and practice facilities. In 2026 the resort entered a management partnership with Milne Golf, which also runs Neshobe and Rocky Ridge golf clubs in Vermont, for ongoing operation of the course.
