About this course
Evergreen Resort occupies about 327 acres outside Cadillac in northern Michigan, on a hillside overlooking Lake Cadillac. Golf here dates to 1959 and today consists of two courses: the 18-hole Spruce course, which winds through pine forest and gentle hills with small, sloped greens, and the shorter 9-hole Norway course.
The Spruce course plays a classic routing with rolling fairways and modest green sizes that reward accurate approach shots over length. Three sets of tees are offered on each course.
Evergreen operates as a resort with on-site lodging, two restaurants, an indoor pool and other amenities alongside the golf. It is open to resort guests and outside golfers.

Cadillac Country Club
Cadillac, MI · 4.0 mi away
Cadillac Country Club is a semi-private club located at 5510 E. M-55 in Cherry Grove Township near Cadillac, Michigan. The club was incorporated in 1910, and golf on the property began with a nine-hole course laid out by Paul Blick and Jerry Matthews in 1914. Near the middle of the century the course was reconfigured and expanded into the 18-hole parkland layout that remains today, measuring about 6,070 yards from the championship tees. The course is known for its mature trees, corridor-style fairways and small, bunkered greens on relatively flat terrain with few forced carries. The club allows outside guests along with limited local resident play in summer, and group rates are available. Walter Hagen and Byron Nelson are both noted in club history as having played the course.
Champion Hill Golf Course
Beulah, MI · 33 mi away
Champion Hill Golf Course sits on about 350 acres of hills east of Beulah in Benzie County, Michigan. Lee Stone and Jim Cole designed the course, which opened in 2000 on former orchard and tree farm ground. It is an open, links-style layout with rolling bluegrass fairways, heather, deep-faced bunkers and raised, contoured greens. From the higher holes you can see Lake Michigan, Crystal Lake and the Platte Lakes. The second hole plays to an old apple tree in the fairway. It plays 6,294 yards at par 72 from the blue tees. Champion Hill is open to the public and is about 15 miles from Crystal Downs, which makes it an easy add to a Benzie County trip.
