About this course
Dalton Ranch Golf Club is located in the Animas Valley just north of Durango, Colorado, on a former alfalfa field surrounded by the San Juan Mountains. The Animas River and connecting streams run along more than half the holes, and the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad passes by the property.
The course was designed by Ken Dye and opened in July 1993. While the terrain is relatively flat compared with the surrounding mountains, the layout includes mounding and contoured lies that add variety to otherwise level ground.
Dalton Ranch operates as a semi-private club with public tee times available alongside member play; the club includes a restaurant and banquet facilities. Water hazards affect play on a large majority of holes, making club selection and accuracy important.
