About this course
Coral Oaks Golf Course is a public, city owned course in Cape Coral, Florida, built within a century old oak hammock. Architect Arthur Hills designed the course, which opened in 1988, with additional work done by architect Tom Morrow in 2017. The par 72 layout measures about 6,623 yards from the championship tees, with TifEagle Bermuda greens and contoured fairways set among mature oaks. Eight lakes and 37 bunkers come into play across the round, giving golfers of varying skill levels a mix of risk and reward. The facility includes a driving range with 46 practice tees. The City of Cape Coral has kept the course under municipal management rather than outsourcing its operation, most recently reaffirming that decision in 2022 after resident support for city run maintenance and staffing. Walking is allowed on the course.

Fort Myers Country Club
Fort Myers, FL · 10 mi away
Fort Myers Country Club, known locally as The Fort, is a public course owned by the City of Fort Myers along the palm-lined McGregor Boulevard. Designed by Donald Ross and built beginning in December 1916, the course opened in December 1917 as the Fort Myers Golf and Yacht Club, making it one of the oldest golf courses on Florida's west coast. Construction was carried out largely by hand and mule teams under Ross associate James B. McGovern. In the 1920s the club counted Thomas Edison and Henry Ford among its early members and neighbors, and its clubhouse restaurant is named for Edison. The course underwent a significant renovation in 2014 intended to preserve Ross's original character while modernizing conditions. Walking is permitted at any time, and the course today offers six sets of tees ranging from roughly 4,300 to 6,600 yards, continuing to operate as a public, city-run facility with a full pro shop and lesson program.
