About this course

Champions Golf Course is a historic municipal facility located on the northeast side of Columbus. Originally established as Winding Hollow Country Club in 1923 with nine holes by Herbert Strong, the course was expanded to its current 18-hole, par 70 layout by Robert Trent Jones in 1954. The 208-acre property is known for its hilly terrain, mature trees, and demanding doglegs. Stretching to 6,536 yards, the course is often cited as one of the most difficult public tests in Central Ohio due to its rolling fairways and large, undulating greens. It is nestled inside the I-270 outer belt near Easton Town Center. The facility is managed by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department and includes a driving range and banquet facilities.
