Carter Country Club is a public nine-hole course in Lebanon that opened in 1923. The club says it is Donald Ross's only nine-hole design in New Hampshire. It plays to par 36 at about 2,760 yards from the back tees, with four sets of tees. The ground is hilly, and the course keeps the feel of an older layout: small greens, blind shots, well-placed bunkers and two ponds. It rewards a good short game more than length. Tee times are first come, first served, and the course is open daily from dawn to dusk.
