About this course

The Canyons Course is one of two 18-hole layouts at Oasis Golf Club in Mesquite, Nevada, set in the Virgin River Valley near rocky desert outcroppings. It combines the Vistas nine, built in 1995, with the Arroyo nine added in 2005, and its back nine was designed by Arnold Palmer.

The front nine plays similarly to the resort's companion Palmer Course, while the back nine is tighter and demands more precision, with elevated tees offering downhill views of the surrounding mountains. Greens on the Canyons are generally larger than those on the Palmer Course.

Canyons operates as part of a resort golf facility, Mesquite's only 36-hole club, with both member and public play available and tee times bookable in advance.

The Palmer Course at Oasis Golf Club

Mesquite, NV · 0.0 mi away

The Palmer Course at Oasis Golf Club is located in Mesquite, Nevada, in the Virgin River Valley near the Utah border. Arnold Palmer designed the course, which opened in 1995 as part of what is now a 36-hole facility that also includes the Canyons course. The par 71 layout runs through red-rock canyon terrain with contoured greens and desert scenery, offering five sets of tees. Palmer himself cited several of the holes among his favorite designs. Oasis Golf Club operates as a resort-style facility with public tee times available up to 90 days in advance, guest packages, a large clubhouse, dining rooms, and a pro shop.

Wolf Creek Golf Club

Mesquite, NV · 0.9 mi away

Wolf Creek Golf Club in Mesquite, Nevada, opened in 2000 and was designed by Dennis and John Rider. The course was built around the dramatic desert terrain, winding through canyons, ridges and washes rather than trying to flatten the property into a traditional golf course. The result is one of the most visually distinctive public courses in the country, with massive elevation changes and some unbelievable tee shots. One of the coolest features is the second tee, which sits about 11 stories above the fairway. More than 100 stairs lead up to the tee, and helicopters were used during construction to bring staircases, sand and rocks into areas that were difficult to reach. The course also uses the natural desert landscape to create dramatic forced carries, elevated tees and canyon shots throughout the round. Wolf Creek has become one of Mesquite’s signature golf experiences and was recognized by Golf Digest as one of America’s best new public courses shortly after opening. It’s a completely unique golf experience that feels more like a video game than a traditional golf course.
