Clarksburg Country Club is a private club in Clarksburg, West Virginia, founded in 1912 to offer golf, tennis, and swimming to local members. Its original nine-hole course opened that same year, and the club has operated continuously since, despite clubhouse fires in 1932 and 1980. The back nine was added in 1961 after the club acquired land across the West Fork River, creating the 18-hole layout that exists today. In 1966, Sam Snead won his tenth West Virginia PGA Championship there, setting a course record that stood for years afterward. The club marked its centennial in 2012 and continues to offer golf, a pool, tennis, and dining to members through its modern clubhouse, built after the 1980 fire.

Bel Meadow Country Club

Bel Meadow Country Club is a semi-private course in Mount Clare, West Virginia, near Clarksburg in Harrison County. The 18-hole, par-72 course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened for play in the mid-1960s. It hosted the West Virginia Open in 1967 and 1971, both won by Sam Snead, who remarked that the back nine was tough enough that local players should consider playing the front nine twice instead. The layout runs to roughly 6,900 to 7,000 yards from the back tees, with well-placed hazards, bunkered greens and mature timber lining the fairways. A signature dogleg-left 17th plays over water.
