About this course
The Lakeview Course is part of Lakeview Golf Resort in Morgantown, West Virginia, overlooking Cheat Lake in the hills near the Pennsylvania border. Architect James Harrison laid out the course, with the front nine completed in 1950 and the remainder finished several years later.
The par-72 layout is known for tight, tree-lined fairways, large undulating greens and dramatic elevation changes, including a par-5 seventh hole that drops about 180 feet from tee to green. The closing par-5 18th, at 620 yards, has reportedly never been reached in two shots, even by touring professionals who have played it.
Lakeview plays to roughly 6,760 yards from the back tees across 18 holes and operates as part of a resort alongside the newer Mountainview Course.
