Boscobel Golf Club is a public 18-hole course in Pendleton, South Carolina, a few minutes from Clemson University. The course opened for play in 1932 on land that once housed a larger lake and recreation complex known as Boscobel Lake and Golf Club. Over the decades the layout has been reworked by later architects, including Russell Breeden, who left his mark on the rolling terrain of Bermuda fairways and Bentgrass greens. The course plays to a par of 71 for men and 72 for women and measures nearly 6,500 yards, with an unusual five par-3 holes instead of the traditional four. Mature oaks and pines line the fairways, and small greens demand accurate approach shots. Water comes into play on three holes.
