About this course

Golf has been played at Schenley Park since 1897, on land Mary Schenley donated to the city of Pittsburgh. The course became one of the first municipal golf courses in the country and helped make public golf a reality in western Pennsylvania.

Today the course operates as the Bob O'Connor Golf Course, renamed in 2007 for the Pittsburgh mayor. The Arnold Palmer Learning Center opened on the property in 2021, and the facility works closely with the First Tee to bring new players into the game.

Few city courses anywhere have put more golfers on the ground where American public golf began. It remains an affordable, walkable course in the heart of the city.
