The Quarry at Giants Ridge in Biwabik, Minnesota, opened in 2003 and was designed by Jeffrey Brauer. The course is built on and around a former iron ore mining site on the Mesabi Range, and the industrial ground is used as golf terrain rather than hidden. Holes play across old pit walls, mine tailings and stands of birch and pine, with exposed red rock and open water from the flooded workings. The mix produces sharp changes in character, from tight forest corridors to wide, barren stretches of sand and stone. It is a state-owned public facility, plays as a par 72, and shares the property with the resort's Legend Course.

Morton, MN

Dacotah Ridge Golf Club is located in southwestern Minnesota near Morton, on rolling prairie land a few miles from Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel. Designed by architect Rees Jones, the 18-hole course covers 240 acres and incorporates natural wetlands, the winding Wabasha Creek, and a 14-acre lake within its routing. The layout stretches to 7,109 yards and is known for open prairie views, native fescue grasses, and firm playing conditions typical of southwestern Minnesota's terrain. Dacotah Ridge is an enterprise of the Lower Sioux Indian Community and operates as a resort-style course with the Wabasha Creek Restaurant on site, seasonal rates, and packages tied to nearby lodging.

Eagle, NE

Very nice setting for golf on a former tree nursery. Gently rolling hills, well-placed ponds & bunkers, and many trees make the place a treat visually. The bent fairways are immaculate, as are the greens. Fall is a wonderful time to play Woodland Hills. And if you live in Lincoln, it’s really convenient now that Old Cheney Rd. is paved all the way from town. This course is a gem.

Azle, TX

Cross Timbers Golf Course is a public, 18-hole, par-72 course in Azle, Texas, convenient to Fort Worth, Weatherford, Springtown and Lake Worth. Designed by Jeffrey Brauer, it opened in 1995 along Ash Creek in the hilly, wooded Cross Timbers region of north Texas, with elevation changes that give it a hill country feel. The course features Champion Bermuda greens, undulating fairways and strategic bunkering. It is the home course of Robert Landers, an Azle farmer who went on to play the Senior PGA Tour. Tee times can be booked up to seven days in advance, and the course is open daily from around 7 a.m. to sundown.

Bent Tree Golf Course is a prairie-style facility located east of Council Bluffs in the Loess Hills region.
