Exeter, RI

Exeter Country Club occupies Ten Rod Road in Exeter, Rhode Island, and traces its golf course to 1889, making it one of the older layouts in the country. The nine-hole course has long been cited locally as among the oldest golf grounds in America, with some accounts placing it among the twenty-five oldest clubs nationally, though exact claims vary across sources. Today the club operates as a walkable nine-hole facility offering both nine- and eighteen-hole rounds, with a golf shop, restaurant, and practice areas serving golfers from the surrounding South County region. Its long history remains the club's defining feature.
