Statesville, NC

The 500 Club is a golf and entertainment club in Statesville, North Carolina, near Lake Norman, built with a NASCAR racing theme. The 18-hole course was designed by Clyde Johnston and opened in the 1990s, laid out over rolling terrain with elevation changes and native grass areas. The course underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation that included new TifEagle Bermuda greens, rebuilt bunkers, and lake enhancements. While shorter than many championship layouts, the elevation changes and native areas add strategic challenge, and pace of play is emphasized for golfers. The 500 Club operates as a semi-private facility, with public tee times available alongside memberships. The clubhouse includes a restaurant, golf simulators, and space for leagues and social events.
