Ledges Golf Club is a municipal course owned by the Town of South Hadley, Massachusetts, in the Pioneer Valley near the Connecticut River. The Town purchased the 244-acre site in 1996, and the course, designed by architect Howard Maurer, opened for play in August 2001. The routing winds through wetlands, mature forest and former farmland, with 78 bunkers placed throughout and four sets of tees stretching the course to 6,507 yards. Elevated tees and greens are common features, and the layout mixes open, links-style holes with sections threading through wooded terrain. Views extend to the surrounding mountain range from several points on the course. As a town-run public facility, Ledges is open to any golfer, offers seasonal memberships alongside daily-fee play, and added a driving range and new clubhouse in 2008.
