Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club - Ghost Creek Course

North Plains, OR · 7.7 mi away

Ghost Creek is the public course at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Oregon, northwest of Portland, set on wetlands terrain with views of the Cascades, Coast Range and Tualatin Valley farmland. Bob Cupp designed the layout, which opened in 1992 in an intentionally natural, "old" style that leaves much of the wetland terrain untouched; the winding Ghost Creek appears throughout the round. The course has hosted professional and USGA events, including the 1993 Nike Tour Championship and U.S. Junior Amateur. Ghost Creek operates as the public counterpart to the private Witch Hollow course at the same 36-hole club, with its own clubhouse, driving range and pro shop for daily-fee play.

Heron Lakes Golf Course (Great Blue)

Portland, OR · 9.8 mi away

The Great Blue Course is one of two 18-hole layouts at Heron Lakes Golf Club, a city-owned facility on the Columbia River lowlands just north of downtown Portland, Oregon. The flood-plain site offers views of Mount Hood and Mount St. Helens and includes wetland habitat that gives the club its name. Great Blue was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr and opened in 1992, two decades after the adjoining Greenback course. It has a links-style character, with Scottish-style mounding, tall fescue rough, small undulating greens and more than 80 bunkers, and it has hosted a U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship. Heron Lakes is a public, municipal facility operated through Portland Parks Golf, with a shared driving range, practice areas and clubhouse serving both the Great Blue and Greenback courses.
