About this course
Whidbey Golf Club sits in a lake- and tree-lined setting in Oak Harbor, Washington, on land that was once the Loerland Dairy Farm. Local golfers acquired the property in 1961, seeded the original nine holes that year, and began play in 1962; a second nine was added in 1979. The old dairy barn served as the clubhouse until a 1996 fire destroyed it, and a new clubhouse with a restaurant and bar opened in 1998. The course plays to a par of 72 over about 6,537 yards from the back tees. Whidbey Golf Club describes itself as a semi-private, family-oriented facility, and Oak Harbor's location in the Olympic rain shadow helps keep the course playable through much of the year.

Oak Harbor, WA · 1.9 mi away
Gallery Golf Course is located on Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, Washington, with views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca toward the Olympic Mountains. The course began in 1948-49 as a six-hole layout called Rocky Point, built at the urging of base commander Capt. Bill Gallery for his wife, an avid golfer. It was expanded to nine holes and then to a full 18 by 1954, and was later renamed Gallery Golf Course in the couple's honor. Although it sits on Navy property, Gallery has been open to public play for many years alongside military patrons, and it offers a driving range, pro shop and men's and women's golf associations.
Camaloch Golf Club
Camano Island, WA · 11 mi away
Camaloch Golf Club is an 18-hole public course on Camano Island, Washington, part of a residential development that began in 1967. The original nine holes opened in 1972, built largely with volunteer labor from the surrounding community, and a second nine designed by Bill Overdorf followed in 1991. The course sits within the Camaloch community, which also includes a small lake and swimming pools, and benefits from a drier microclimate than much of the surrounding Puget Sound region. Older greens have been reshaped over time to blend with the more modern nine, and the putting surfaces are known for their quality and speed. Camaloch is open to public play with a driving range and pro shop on site, and it offers five sets of tees, including forward tees intended for newer golfers.
Lopez Island Golf Club
Lopez Island, WA · 17 mi away
Lopez Island Golf Club is located in Washington's San Juan Islands, reached by ferry or small plane to Lopez Island. It is a 9-hole course that plays as 18 holes using separate tee boxes and pins for a second loop, with a combined par of 69 and a back-tee yardage of about 5,300. The club describes itself as a private club that is open to the public, operating without required tee times and with an honor-system payment drop box when the clubhouse is unstaffed. A Wednesday night mixed-team league is a regular fixture, and the clubhouse offers snacks, rental clubs, and a practice and short-game area. It is open year-round.
