About this course
Viroqua Hills Golf Course sits in the rolling hills of Vernon County in southwest Wisconsin, just outside Viroqua.
The original nine holes opened in 1930 as a public course; a second nine, added in 1996, is reached through a tunnel under the highway and includes two ponds and a waterfall. The par-71 course now covers a bit over 6,300 yards, with mature pine, oak and birch lining wide fairways and undulating greens.
The course is open to the public, with a clubhouse overlooking the countryside, a pro shop, restaurant and bar, plus a driving range and two practice putting greens. The 11th hole, with a tee box perched around 90 to 100 feet above the fairway, is the course's signature hole.
