Oak Quarry Golf Club
Riverside, CA · 3.3 mi away
Oak Quarry Golf Club sits in a former marble quarry in Riverside, California. Dr. Gil Morgan and Schmidt-Curley Design, led by Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley, laid out the course on the old Jensen Quarry site and opened it in 2000. The layout runs through sheer rock walls and large elevation changes left over from decades of mining. No homes border the course, so the quarry walls and open pits stay in view from tee to green. The par-3 14th plays from a high tee across a pond to a green framed by a quarry wall, and it is the hole most golfers remember. The course plays to 7,002 yards at par 72 from the back tees, with a slope of 137 and a rating of 73.9. Four sets of tees bring the yardage down for shorter hitters. Oak Quarry is a public, daily-fee course open to walk-up and advance-booked tee times.
Glen Ivy Golf Club
Corona, CA · 12 mi away
Glen Ivy Golf Club, also marketed as The Golf Club at Glen Ivy, is a public course in Corona, California, set in the Temescal Valley with views of the surrounding hills and Santa Ana Mountains. The course was designed by architect Ted Robinson Sr. and plays through avocado groves and canyon terrain. The par-72 layout offers four sets of tees per hole and generous landing areas, with a signature finishing hole featuring a roughly 200-foot drop from tee to fairway. Golf carts are required, as walking is not permitted on the course. The club includes a golf shop, a restaurant overlooking the ninth hole, and event and wedding facilities. A collared shirt dress code applies for all players.
Black Gold Golf Club
Yorba Linda, CA · 20 mi away
Black Gold Golf Club is an 18-hole public course in Yorba Linda, California, owned by the city and managed by KemperSports. Designed by Arthur Hills and opened in 2001 on a former oil field, the course required moving more than two million cubic yards of dirt to fit holes into steep, rolling terrain, and several active oil wells remain visible on the property. The layout offers views toward the Orange County and Los Angeles coastline and Catalina Island on clear days, along with water features including a waterfall near the 18th green. It was the first new full-length municipal course built in Orange County since the early 1970s and remains open daily to the public.
