About this course
This course in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, sits on Pacific bluffs south of Los Angeles and was originally designed by Pete Dye. It opened in 2006 after a difficult construction history: as the earlier Ocean Trails project neared completion in 1999, part of the 18th hole slid down the cliff toward the beach, and the land had to be stabilized and the course reworked under new ownership before it could open.
Almost every hole has an ocean view, and several play along the cliff edge with the coastline down the right or left. Wind off the water is constant, the rough is thick kikuyu, and the greens are firm and quick.
It is a public course that plays as a par 71 at just over 7,200 yards from the back tees.
