About this course
The Gold Course at Tiburon in Naples, Florida, is a Greg Norman design that opened in 1998 at what is now the Ritz-Carlton golf resort. Norman built it without conventional rough, using coquina shell waste areas along the fairways instead.
That choice defines play. A missed tee shot usually leaves a lie on crushed shell rather than in thick grass, so recovery is available but control is not, and the greens are firm with subtle rather than severe contour. It plays as a par 72.
The course hosts the LPGA's CME Group Tour Championship and has hosted the mixed-team event played at the resort each December. It is open to resort guests and members.
