About this course
The Park West Palm opened in 2023 on the site of the old West Palm Beach municipal course, which had closed and fallen into disrepair. Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner designed the new course, and the project was funded through a nonprofit set up to return public golf to the city.
The land is flat and sandy, so the golf comes from shaping rather than terrain. Fairways are wide, sandy waste areas replace conventional rough in places, and the greens have enough contour to make position off the tee matter. It plays as a par 71.
There is a lit short course, a practice area and a public restaurant on the property, and the operation is set up around city resident access and junior programming.
